> About the Harold Pinter Theatre |
Stage and Auditorium Beautifully decorated in the late Victorian Arts and Crafts style, the Grade 2 listed, medium sized capacity auditorium is split over four levels, creating a uniquely intimate feel. Ornamental shell motifs run through the auditorium’s muted blue and pink tones. Rich in history, the Comedy Theatre is one of the last hemp houses in London, and its original orchestra pit has only recently been re-opened after being closed for 25 years- please note that the use of this is subject to the resident production.
Foyer Bar
This large, light bar area is perfect for standing drinks receptions. Grand columns frame the space making an impressive entrance to the venue, and the double doors on either side of the room can be opened to create an over-flow area, allowing for larger capacities. The bar also has wheelchair access, and its own cloakroom. Please note that the box office shares this space, and so a cordoned area must be accessible to the public during the week. It can however be hired exclusively on Sundays.

Moonlight Bar
An iconic meeting space, the bar was famously home to the ‘The Lord’s Taverners’ meeting on 3rd July 1950, an event commemorated by a special wall plaque. Recently refurbished, the Moonlight Bar is a sophisticated setting for standing receptions and formal meetings. Fully equipped with coffee-making and cocktail-mixing facilities, this stylish and elegant space is destined to impress by day and night.

The Royal Retiring Room This luxurious private space, decorated in the traditional blue colours of the theatre, comes complete with its own fridge and private toilet. Once used by Marilyn Monroe, when her husband Arthur Miller’s play ‘A View from a Bridge’ was playing at the Theatre, this is the perfect space for private entertaining and for smaller parties to enjoy a premium experience.

Stalls Bar & Arthur Miller Suite Situated at the rear of the stalls level, this bar provides another sizeable break-out space, perfect for larger standing receptions. The adjoining Arthur Miller Suite, named in honour of the star’s frequent visits to the theatre’s bars in the 1950’s, can be curtained off to create a smaller, private space for entertaining.
