About the Apollo Victoria

Home to one of London’s most prestigious shows, the Apollo Victoria Theatre is a truly iconic venue in which to hold an event. The theatre’s location in the heart of the business world makes it an ideal venue for formal meetings, conferences and lectures. The venue’s sizeable bars are available to hire for standing receptions and smaller formal meetings and are ideal for workshops and play-readings. The large auditorium is a spectacular space for showcases, presentations, lectures, awards and larger events which really want to make an impression.

The Apollo Victoria Theatre is available for hire on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-4.30pm (earlier starts can be facilitated), and is available throughout the day and evenings on Sundays subject to availability.

Built during the 1930s, the Apollo Victoria (originally the New Victoria) was intended for use as a cinema, with its design inspired by the German Expressionist movement. The interior was intended to give one the feeling of being aboard a great cruise liner and as such features aquatic murals and mermaid designs. Alongside hosting films and theatre productions, the Apollo Victoria also became a popular live music venue in the 1960s and 70s, before showing its first musical theatre production, ‘The Sound of Music’ in 1981. In 2001, the building’s interior was refurbished, with the old GLS lamps in the auditorium being replaced by 88,000 individual LED bulbs, able to create a wide variety of spectacular effects. Now home to the hugely successful ‘Wicked’, the theatre’s owners and staff are dedicated to preserving the venue’s architectural brilliance.
